Description
ELMHURST, IL — The last Elmhurst schools superintendent left earlier than expected. The new one may start earlier than expected.
On Tuesday, the Elmhurst School District 205 board is slated to vote on a "transitional services agreement" with Keisha Campbell, who is set to become the new superintendent July 1.
The board's online meeting packet includes no information about the agreement, but its title implies that Campbell will begin work for District 205 earlier than her announced start date. A message for comment was left with the district's administration.
Former Superintendent Dave Moyer announced in January that he would leave to become a superintendent for a New York school district July 1. But in late March, the board announced Moyer was leaving three months early. His late day was March 31. Former York High School Principal Linda Yonke has been the interim superintendent.
In mid-April, the board approved a three-year contract with Campbell, a York graduate. She is now the director of school leadership with the Academy for Urban School Leadership in Chicago. It is a nonprofit group with a network of 31 Chicago public schools totaling more than 16,000 students.
Campbell's salary for next school year is $225,000, according to the district. Campbell lives in Elmhurst.
