Hamill Named Executive Director Of CCEF

By James Harris, Culver City Crossroads May 24, 2021 The Culver City Education Foundation has named Wendy Hamill as its new executive director, effective June 1. Hamill previously served as the Foundation's chief operating officer. She had also served as interim executive director for the first three months of 2020. Prior to that, Hamill served on the CCEF board of directors for eight years. "I am excited to lead CCEF in its next chapter as we continue to build momentum and increase our impact in Culver City schools," said Hamill. Hamill has an extensive background in financial analysis and non-profit management, having worked in senior management positions in the non-profit sector for many years, including as director of finance for Didi Hirsch Mental Health Center. She holds an MBA in non-profit management from Northwestern University. She is the parent of three children, two of whom are Culver City High School graduates with her youngest now a CCMS student. "We are delighted to name Wendy as our new executive director," said Elaine Behnken, president of the CCEF board of directors. "She has an extensive knowledge of our donors and funded projects and a deep commitment to CCEF's mission: serving every CCUSD student at every school." Behnken noted that the CCEF is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2021 and in the past year raised more than $400,000 for district programs. The foundation supports visual and performing arts, science and technology needs as well as priority initiatives that serve over 7,000 students at every school in the CCUSD. Since its founding, CCEF has donated millions to CCUSD schools. CCEF continues to raise much-needed funds to maintain and grow programs and seeks endowment and planned gifts to ensure long term support for programs that engage and inspire students.
