We have an exceptional Early Childhood Center, a religious school and youth program, and many adults programs that meet at the Temple. Position Overview This is a part-time hourly position. You will be part of a team of our dedicated maintenance family who has been serving Temple Kol Ami for over 30 years. We treat our staff with respect. The position is scheduled for 20 to 30 hours per week as needed. There will be daytime and regular evening hours. During the busy holiday seasons, your hours will be increased. Outstanding customer service is important, as there is constant interaction with our members and staff. Responsibilities Custodian’s main responsibility is to keep our beautiful, modern workspace clean and organized. This task is broken down into several duties performed throughout the day and evenings and includes: Cleaning classrooms, large social spaces, and bathrooms Shampooing rugs and carpets and waxing floors Dusting all surfaces Washing windows Using equipment: vacuums, floor buffers and carpet cleaners Collecting and taking out trash and recycling Setting up chairs and tables for services, social events and programs Being present on premises for various custodial duties as needed Skills and Qualifications Ability to stand and walk for long periods Ability to lift and move over 50 pounds Knowledge of different cleaning products and tools Time-management and multitasking abilities Physical strength and stamina Ability to have a flexible schedule Organization skills Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills – Speaking and understanding Spanish is a plus Ability to work with minimal supervision Excellent communication and customer service skills High school diploma or GED Covid-19 vaccination Background test and fingerprints will be required Compensation $12-$15 per hour based on experience Health plan is available (Temple pays 75% and employee pays 25%) Application:Please send resume to Nancy Drapin, [email protected].
