PHOENIX, AZ — The Arizona Diamondbacks are teaming up with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona and the Arizona Department of Health Services to offer a family COVID-19 vaccination site at downtown Phoenix's Chase Field in early June. The event, which takes place on June 5, allows attendees over the age of 12 to run the bases at the ballpark, take a picture on the field and receive a free ticket to an upcoming D-backs home game, the team said. The free event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., is open for walk-ins and those with appointments, with shots given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. "With the school year coming to an end and families still looking for a simple, comfortable, and stress-free environment to get their family members vaccinated, we want to open the doors to Chase Field once again," said D-backs President & CEO Derrick Hall in a statement. "We know that this can be an overwhelming experience for some of our younger fans so we are proud to work with ADHS and BCBS on creating a family-friendly environment for them to get vaccinated." The D-backs are also offering second doses at Chase Field on June 26 for anyone that gets a vaccine at the early June event. To get a free D-backs home game ticket, attendees must get both doses of the Pfizer vaccine, with tickets available for any weekday contest.
