WORCESTER, MA — Free coronavirus vaccines won't be the only spectacle at a clinic in Worcester on Tuesday. The vaccine clinic — which is being held under the equity program — will take place at Polar Park, giving attendees a chance to see inside the city's newest attraction. There will also be music, prizes and food. The vaccines at Tuesday's clinic will be open to Worcester residents or workers who meet the criteria of the equity program: People of color, including Black, Latino and indigenous peopleNon-English speakersResidents who do not have access to public transportationPeople who do not feel comfortable getting vaccinated in a medical facilityPeople with disabilitiesHomeless residentsResidents with mental illness or substance use disorder Worcester is one of 20 communities around the state participating in the equity program. In Massachusetts, people of color have been disproportionately impacted by coronavirus. That disparity has followed into the vaccine rollout. In mid-March, local health officials reported wide racial gaps in vaccination rates among Worcester residents. The Polar Park clinic runs from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at the stadium located at 100 Madison St.
