Seeking Harmony Vocals for Eclectic Stringband

Meets

Northampton MA

Description

About us: we are an established gigging four-piece band with 2 vocalists seeking a third vocalist who can sing 3rd part harmony. We have eclectic taste and draw from many genres including folk, rock, bluegrass, oldtimey, blues, funk, country, gospel, and more. We do this because we love the music, performing, and gigging. Our repertoire includes roughly 1/3 covers, 1/3 originals, and 1/3 traditional songs. We gig regionally roughly one to six times per month. Most often we also get paid--sometimes well. Sometimes we do charity events to raise money for others (read: play for free). We play bars, barns, churches, house parties, music venues, weddings, festivals, political rally's, funerals, local business events, cow pastures, and more. We are weekend warriors and all have day jobs. We have pro equipment, PA, and lighting. We love to have fun. We give and receive feedback to each other. We rehearse weekly for roughly two hours--sometimes bi-weekly. About You: You are a fine singer and musician who can sing 3rd part harmony well without straining. Even better if you play a stringed instrument well (bonus for mandolin), but neither critical. You are any age or gender or orientation. You are a nice person without huge ego or history of drama. You love music--ideally the genres listed above. You are eager to learn lots of new material. You can make weekly rehearsals in Northampton. You can make gigs with regularity. (This probably means you are not in three other bands). You will be around the area for at least a year--ideally more. You are generally easy-going, willing to give and receive feedback. Ideally you have experience gigging but that is not necessarily critical. You enjoy road trips. Please note: except where noted, all of these considerations about you are critical. We are not looking for replacements or fill-ins at this time. We want someone who has musical talent, is looking to gig and have fun. This will be work to ramp up on everything so if you're wishy-washy, it might be best to let this one go. If replying, please include information about how you meet criteria. Thanks and have a great day!
