Description

doing it for art, not fame, fortune, or ego trippin BS. However, should I dig up a few other die hard artist that I can live, work, and cooperate with on a creative journey, I wouldn't turn down all the trappings. Are there no other artists kicking around in this town that want to do this just to make music? That have had enough of same old sh*t show and potentially wouldn't mind getting out of this city. "Lightning in the Bottle" is theory I'm seeking to capture, where there's not a lot thinking about it and it basically just happens. I'm looking for 3 other people that have the talent and tenacity to do something other than polish somebody else's knob. Preferably, persons that have writing, singing, and above average performing skills and that too. I'm not interested in long drawn out rehearsals, endless pissing and moaning about why it can't be done. This can be done on the cheap, if your a musician worth your salt, you should be able to pick up the gist of what I got in short amount of time. I'd like to perfect and record some of the pieces I've got and hopefully there potential scallywags out there that have a few of their own to add to the mix. To start with do it here at a few places, see if has any appeal and if so take it to nearby major cities, i.e. southern OH, PA, IN, IL, hopefully, doing it in good to better venues. That again, to start with it at least covers costs, so you'd better be pretty good at it for not much pay. Here's the problem I've been having, (for years) practically every other "musician" is telling me if there's no greasing my palm, not interested. Or it's... you don't have a rehearsal room with a PA and AC, not interested and the ever present you don't want to do covers and you don't do any Whitesnake, Poison, or Skynyrd... not interested. I'm a rhythm guitarist, I sing, I write. I'm looking for a lead, bass, drummer and maybe keys. What I do is simple blues rock -n-roll, in the light of... Stones-Muse-Doors-White-Blk Crows-Cheryl Crow-Zeppelin-Blk Sabbath-Chuck Berry-ZZ Top-Elvis- John Kay-Who-Heart-Cult-Hendrix-Eagles-Rival Sons-etc... If you're interested in talking about it, you're going to have to meet me in person, here's why... I've heard many a good recording, though in many instance were attached to people I wouldn't want to through my lot in with for a variety of reasons. You'll just have to take my word my kung fu is as good as yours and in most cases probably better. Additionally, if your not into the artists/bands listed... please don't bother me.
