A well established company that has been manufacturing professional-grade food processing equipment for over 40 years is searching for an Mechanic Assistant. Duties and Responsibilities for Mechanic Assistant: Must have 5+ years of mechanical experience in construction equipment or heavy diesel equipment with hydraulic and electrical experience. Able to communicate effectively with customer, supervisor, and fellow employees. Possess tooling required by the service department. Provide customer satisfaction by serving customers in a professional, speedy, and efficient manner. Provide after-hours technical service. Ensure guards and safety devices are functioning properly. Write clear parts requisitions and service write-ups. Enhance service department and organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. The individuals will maintain good attendance and punctuality Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components. Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting. Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. Skills and Qualifications for Mechanic Assistant: Working knowledge of hand and power tools. Strong mechanical experience is required. Responsible to meet deadlines. Understand written and verbal instructions as well as shop work orders. Must have ability to communicate effectively with co-workers. Job Details for Mechanic Assistant: Duration: Temp to hire Hours: Monday - Friday 6 am- 2:30 pm Pay rate: $22+ DOE
