Currently looking for the Experienced Welder: As an Experienced Structural Steel Welder, you are responsible for producing high quality fabrications while meeting or beating target timelines. Welding structural steel and miscellaneous metals Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. 2. Use measuring tools tape measures and other layout tools. 3. Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions/reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent welding. 4. Position and clamp metal components for welding without damaging the materials, including complex mitered/compound angles and saddle joints. 5. Must know the proper weld settings for welding various materials along with filler rod selection. 6. Must be knowledgeable with and able to set up engine drive welder and wire feeder. 7. Ability and understanding of how to identify the proper order of operations (identifying the main datum point / sequence of welds) 8. Communicate all defects and scrap to supervisor 9. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 10. Ability to focus attention on details and achieve Excelsior’s and customer’s standards Note: Duties and Responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, verbally or in writing. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1. Demonstrated ability to work safely (wear required PPE), meet quality standards, productivity and follow all company policies 2. Demonstrated ability to set-up machines for multiple processes and adjust as necessary to preform required welds while minimizing weld defects and splatter. 3. Ability to seek help and advice for trouble shooting equipment or projects 4. Ability to perform QA checks on parts and assemblies 5. Capable of modifying parts and assemblies on the fly to bring within drawing specifications and tolerance. 6. Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment with many simultaneous tasks 7. Ability to plan, organize, and execute an assembly 8. Ability to follow directions from supervisor, work effectively in a team environment and interface effectively with all levels of the organization. 9. Current forklift, man lift, scissor lift, variable reach forklift, fall protection, and rigging certificate a plus. 10. Current 232 and or 7018 welding certificate a plus.
