Description

Family-friendly Wildflower Walk at Warren Woods on Thursday, June 24th, from 10am to 11:30am Join youth outdoor educator, local parent, and SLT volunteer, Kelly Pietrzak for a Wildflower Walk, geared towards young explorers. This educational hike will focus on noticing and identifying the wildflowers that grow along the trails at Warren Woods. With these new skills, your child may even identify some of the same flowers growing in your neighborhood! The event is free, although registration for each attendee is required due to limited parking. While the event plans for a full hike through Warren Woods, families are welcome to return to their cars sooner if the event is running long, or if youngest attendees are unable to walk the entire property. Kelly loves to work with children: from coaching youth sports, to leading youth nature hikes, to homeschooling her own two children. She previously ran a nature education business for preschool aged children and has a Master's in Education teaching mostly middle school math but also at the elementary and college level. She loves to camp, tend her ever expanding gardens, and trail run with the family dog. This is the second year Kelly has led walks for children with Scarborough Land Trust, and her first year serving on SLT's Communication, Education, and Outreach Committee. Bring a snack and wear waterproof footwear. Remain tick and insect aware. Rain date: Friday, June 25th at 10am
