Finish Carpenter (Commercial & Residential) Salary commensurate with experience JOB SUMMARY: Locally-owned general contractor is looking for an experienced, full-time Finish Carpenter based in Maui, Hawaii. As projects are scattered throughout the island (based mostly throughout the south side and north shore), reliable transportation is mandatory. The ideal candidate will have experience installing doors, baseboard, casing, wood ceilings, cabinetry and hardware. Use of your own tools is preferred, but not required (especially where more specialized tools are concerned). If you do not have experience in all of these areas, please let us know what your specialty is. Please do not apply if you cannot properly take measurements or operate power tools. Professionalism, awareness of your surroundings, strong communication skills and a “team-player” mindset is key. Pay rate is based on experience. Full benefits are available for those meeting a minimum of 20 hours per week. Benefits include: Dental and Health Insurance. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma or certification in a skilled trade (carpenter) • Knowledge of construction best practices, equipment maintenance, and use (OSHA awareness is a plus) • Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints and convey this information to others • Excellent organizational and listening skills • Ability to communicate and report effectively • Aptitude in math and strong problem-solving abilities • Good physical condition and stamina—able to lift at least 50 lbs., climb ladders, work outdoors and stand/walk for long periods of time • Journeyman license a plus Please email with your preferred pay rate, availability and resume.
