Description

Our NEW Manchester location we will be unloading, stocking, selecting and loading product out to a grocery chain in the CT area. FHI associates will handle dry grocery and general merchandise for our customer. This position will be third shift for start up, and then positions may be available on other shifts. Performs loading of outbound trailers and moves materials and products throughout the warehouse. Completes load verification and verifies the accuracy of assembled loads. Loads trailers according to load sheets in an accurate, safe and timely manner. Operates pallet jacks and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner Perform pre-operational check of pallet jacks or forklifts according to company policy. Assists selectors on placement of pallets on the loading dock Coordinates loads with selection clerks. Stages pallet and/or load into truck when ready Maintains proper housekeeping standards in work area. Follows and promotes all safety rules, regulations, and guidelines. Ensures that operations are aligned and performed to achieve production and safety goals. This position is designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Equipment training is provided. Qualifications Prior experience as a warehouse associate is preferred. Experience working in a warehouse environment (e.g., order selector/picking product storage, product staging, powered pallet jack/forklifts, etc.) Working with racking systems and loading/unloading pallets (e.g., pulling and placing pallets on/off vertical product racking systems and trucks, maximizing storage by stacking products vertically, etc.) Good verbal/written communication skills Willingness to work the required schedule. Ability to speak and write English for effective communication. Basic math skills. Attention to detail and ability to follow directions. Interact respectfully and courteously with associates, co-workers, management, and customers. Ability to work in a team environment. Working conditions Warehouse environment with extreme heat and cold temperatures. Physical requirements Ability to lift, walk, bend, twist, reach, push and squat most of the workday. Handle cases weighing from 25 to 95 pounds and can expect to handle between 50 and 200+ pallets on any given day.
