DisasterCon is for individuals and organizations to network together to prepare for Disasters and Storm Chasing. The mission for DisasterCon is to host a space for individuals and organizations to network together, to promote good will to the community, and to nurture a relationship in all communities across the United States. DisasterCon is two conferences that are merged into one. You have the choice to either attend the full 6 day conference, or you can choose one of the half sessions. For more details on each session please keep reading. Our sessions are split into two groups, Disaster Preparedness, and Storm Chasing. Both sessions go together, and have ample crossover between the two, but each can also stand on their own. Disaster Preparedness~ Over the 3 days of this session we will dive into Preparing for different types of disasters. Some are more localized such as a tornado or thunderstorm, while others can be more wide spread such as blizzards and wildfires. In this session we will have speakers in our Open Air teachings (These are the main room teachings) on topics from past events, and general overview knowledge. We will also be providing multiple breakout teachings that will more in depth on a numerous amount of topics, such as FEMA Incident Command, and Emergency Preparedness for the community. Storm Chasers~ Over this 3 day session we will dig deeper into the education of storm chasing. We will discuss on topics like chase safety and getting the better shot. In our Open Air teachings we will focus on more on the baseline of chasing and general information of past storms. We will dig into more of the technical parts of storm chasing during our break out teachings as well. These breakouts will have more to do with in depth teaching on topics like Photography, or soundings, and even some basic medical information. Between both sessions we will have an Open Day that is open to the public to come and enjoy basic classroom teachings, and provide an open space for Vendors to attend. Any tickets purchased for the conference has the access pass to the Open Day at no additional charge.
