Fundraiser for Elia due to her recent diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Crawfish is what is on the menu for this event. BYOB event We took Elia to the pediatrician on April 26th. She had what we thought was some minor cellulitis. The pediatrician did not like how it looked so she sent us to Dell Childrens ER in Austin. Within 8 hours it had spread from her knee to her ankle. They did blood cultures and other blood work at that time. Her platelets were in the 500’s in Feb. that day they were 92. Upon more blood work we were diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. We have done a few lumbar punctures and intra-thecal chemotherapy as well as a bone marrow biopsy. She is also got a pic line. As soon as the infection is done she is going to get a port. First round of treatments is induction therapy. Those last 35 days, We are currently half way through that. We will be doing blood work along the way to see how she is responding. So depending on what happens treatments may last any where from 2-3 years from what I have been reading. Everything is still up in the air right now, but I’m sure it will come crashing down very soon. As of now I don’t know what we need to make it through this, but with you guys as a support team I’m sure we will make it.
