Description
We are looking for a new home for our beloved Catahoula. Her name is Cobble and she is 5 years old. We've had her since she was a puppy. She is very sweet and cuddly, and she thinks she is a lap dog. She is super active and adventurous, and loves going on the trails. She has been a lovely part of our family, but we are recognizing that our lifestyle and home don't allow her the life she deserves. We don't have a yard and we realize we are planning to keep it that way for the foreseeable future. We take her on long walks every day, but all that time on the leash hasn't taught her good social skills with other dogs. Sometimes she is aggressive with other dogs, so we can't trust her off-leash. Some dogs she loves and has a good time with--they need to be active and up for some heavy rough-and-tumble play. She gets along really well with our small children, but (especially since she's always on a leash) she gets nervous around other people's children when she doesn't know them. Besides these issues, which are very remedial with some consistent training, she is a wonderful, playful, and loving dog. She wants to please, and is motivated to behave well and obey commands. We have taken some time to work on her training, but even so, she still deserves better than what we are giving her.
She is also very well behaved inside the house (including when we leave her home alone) and traveling in the car.
She's current on all vaccines and is very healthy. She was spayed as a puppy.
She gets along well with our cat, but has no experience being around livestock.
We will ask for a small re-homing fee.
Tell us a bit about what you're looking for in a dog and we'll schedule a time for you to meet her.
