Ranch/Stable Hand Salary Depends on Experience - Permanent - Full-time - Live-In Option Non-Smoker - Must Have Experience Handling Horses Scissortail Hill Equestrian in S.E. Austin is looking to hire a full time stable hand/worker=. Job duties include cleaning of stalls, turning well mannered horses in/out of pastures/stalls, feeding and watering horses. Days and times vary. This position does not include riding. Candidates must be responsible, dependable, have a positive attitude and be able to maintain communication with the rest of the barn staff. Position is physically demanding but low stress. Those interested will earn free riding lessons. This job is hard but great for self motivated people who love physical jobs, take pride in their work, don't mind working solo (with tons of animals), want to be apart of a fun team, and like working with tools of different types. Working facility with 40 horses. REQUIREMENTS Lift 50 lbs, have reliable transportation (if not live in), and speak decent English (fluent not necessary). Hard worker with basic horse handling skills to clean and maintain the barn and facilities. This is NOT a riding position, but riding is possible for the right person. References required, preference to candidates with equine/ranch experience or equestrian references. OPTIONAL ACCOMMODATION On site. Medium sized high quality RV with pop out living room, working kitchen, flat screen TV, bathroom, and large bed. Access to washer and dryer on site.
