MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A corrections deputy with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office was charged with driving under the influence early Monday morning, MCSO said in a news release. Just before 3:30 a.m., MCSO received a call about an unresponsive driver behind the wheel of a car at US 41 N and Moccasin Wallow Road. Deputies found Emanual Clement, 28, asleep in his car, which was parked in the right turn lane on US 41 N facing the northbound light, and woke him up. They later identified him as a MCSO deputy. Clement was hired as a corrections deputy in November 2015. He resigned from the sheriff's office Monday prior to being terminated, MCSO said.
