Description

NEW HAVEN, CT — The first of what city officials say will be many such public meetings, Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Hillhouse High School, New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker will host the in-person community meeting to discuss the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 and how it will help New Haven. The public is encouraged to attend. In March of this year, President Joe Biden signed the law, which provides funding direct stimulus checks and child care tax credits to qualifying city residents as well as funding to local governments for social and economic recovery. Elicker will join community stakeholders at this forum to provide the details of the short and long-term goals of the program, gain input and share ideas with residents and collaborate on ways we can lift the community out of the pandemic together. Additional meetings will be held this summer, both in-person and online.
