42% Of Loudoun County Residents Are Now Fully Vaccinated

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — 42 percent of all residents in Loudoun County are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the county's daily vaccine update. More than 385,000 vaccine doses have been administered so far, and 173,860 residents are fully vaccinated. Large numbers of residents between the ages of 10 and 19 have now received the coronavirus vaccine, after the Pfizer vaccine was authorized for use in children as young as 12 earlier this month. In Loudoun County, 38 percent of residents aged 10 to 19 have received at least one dose of the vaccine. 17 percent of people in that age group are considered fully vaccinated, according to the Virginia Department of Health's demographic dashboard. According to the Virginia Department of Health, people in their 20s are more likely to be fully vaccinated than people in their 30s in Loudoun County. 50 percent of people aged 20 to 29 are fully vaccinated, compared to 45 percent aged 30 to 39. In response to steadily increasing vaccination rates and declining COVID infection rates, Loudoun County has changed the hours on its vaccine hotline. The hotline can still be reached at 703-737-8300 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Virginia residents can use the Vaccine Appointment Scheduling Engine to find an appointment through the health district. Alternatively, residents can use the federal vaccine finder tool to find a coronavirus vaccine from a pharmacy or other healthcare provider.
