Hanley Energy To Build New Headquarters In Loudoun County

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Hanley Energy, an Ireland-based company that provides power and energy monitoring products to data centers, is coming to Loudoun County. They will begin building their new North American Headquarters in Ashburn in June, according to a news release. The headquarters is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022, according to Merritt Construction Services, who will manage the construction project. The new 6.7 acre headquarters site will include a 36,000-square-foot light industrial building, Merritt Properties said. The new headquarters represents a $10 million dollar investment from Hanley Energy. The new headquarters is also slated to bring more than 200 new jobs to Loudoun County, the news release said. 50 jobs in engineering, manufacturing, and electrical testing will be added by the end of 2021. Clive Gilmore is the CEO and co-founder of Hanley Energy. "Deciding to base our North American Headquarters in Loudoun, Virginia was a global strategy choice," Gilmore said. "This dynamic economic hub attracts a range of international businesses and multinational corporations; all of whom are looking to capitalize on the surging growth of the digital innovation sector." According to the Loudoun County Department of Economic Development, more than 3,500 technology companies are based in the county. The area's digital infrastructure is vital to the global internet, as 70 percent of the world's internet traffic passes through Loudoun County. Gilmore noted that Loudoun County is uniquely qualified to host his business. "Loudoun's strong governance, conducive business environment and proximity to international travel has allowed Hanley Energy to fill international and regional roles with world-class talent and firmly underscores a unique platform for direct foreign investment."
