Traffic Signals Out Along Route 9, 7K Without Power In Toms River

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A power outage affecting nearly 7,000 Toms River homes and businesses on Monday morning is affecting traffic signals along Route 9 in the area. The Ocean County Sheriff's Office said traffic signals are out along Route 9 from Route 571/Indian Head Road north to Cox Cro Road. Jersey Central Power & Light's outage website estimates electric service will be restored about noon. The cause of the outage was not immediately available. Motorists driving on cross streets as well as along Route 9 should expect delays and exercise caution in the area while the signals are out.
