Description

Press release from the Township of Toms River: May 24, 2021 Sand import operations are complete, and grading of the walkovers and dunes is almost complete. Installation of walkover rails and dune fencing will take place over the next week or two, however most of the significant work will be complete by Memorial Day. Please note that some areas in Ortley Beach, specifically between 5th and 7th Avenue, do not have a large beach right now, however, we expect the beach to replenish itself naturally as the summer winds shift from the south.  Although this section of the beach will be open, it may  have limited space during high tides. All protective dunes have been restored to 100% of their original design. In the North Beaches, final grading and cleanup of the walkovers and easterly dune fence will take place next week.
