Kennel Tech/ Training Assistant

This is a permanent, flex-time position, with hours likely between 32 and 40 per week. Most likely hours would be full-time through the summer at least, as it is our busiest season. Hours are 7:30am until 4/4:30pm for opening shifts, 9:30/10am to 5:30/6pm for closing. Schedule is likely to be Wednesday through Sunday. The job is with Patrick Canine Coastal Resort in western Sonoma County near the coast. We are on a ranch property, so you will need reliable transportation. We are a top Canine Boarding and Training Facility and we are located 17 miles west of Petaluma near Tomales. We are a small kennel with a dedicated staff, so the ability to prioritize tasks and self-manage is important. We are looking for someone who can work both as a kennel tech and as an assistant trainer, possibly moving up to lead trainer once ready. No prior kennel or training experience is required- we will train you- but it is definitely a plus! Training experience is especially helpful. If you have experience with dogs or you just love them, this job is for you! The following are some of the tasks that you’d be doing as an Animal Care Tech: cleaning, feeding, bathing, grooming, washing out runs, and exercising. This is a physically demanding job. Important requirements: Must love dogs. Must be dependable and punctual. Must have reliable transportation. Must be a team player. Must be able to work in an organized structure. Must be able to self-manage a dynamic workload. Must be able to stay on a time schedule. Must live within 40 miles from our location.
