JERSEY CITY, NJ — Driver's in Jersey City beware, Pacific Avenue will be closed starting this week as a sewer and water main replacement project starts. The Jersey City Municipal Utilities Authority is planning to replace the water and sewer mains in Pacific Avenue from Ash Street to Bramhall Ave to prevent future flooding. Traffic will be allowed intermittently, but drivers are still asked to plan for alternate routes and follow all detour signage. The replacement project is happening in phases and the first phase closes Pacific Avenue from Ash Street to Johnson Avenue, the second phase closes from Johnson Avenue to Communipaw Avenue and the last phase closes from Communipaw Avenue to Bramhall Avenue. More information on the detours and work can be found on the JCMUA website.
