Tails of the City has been operating in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle for 1 year. We are seeking an experienced manager to add to our small team. We would love to find someone that becomes a part of a family that will grow with us as our business grows. Job duties include; managing play groups by engaging the dogs in play, reading dog body language in order to facilitate appropriate play between dogs, and maintain group safety and cleanliness. The manager is also in charge of our social media presence and needs to be Instagram savvy. The manager will also be in charge of the hourly employees and be the primary point of contact with our customers. Tasks also include various cleaning duties and facility maintenance. The job environment is fast-paced and physically demanding. Communication with coworkers is a must as well as a positive attitude! This position is perfect for someone with a fair amount of prior professional animal care experience. Minimum Requirements:* Ability to lift 50+ lbs, and stand for 4-8 hours* Must be comfortable with all breeds and supervising 10-20 dogs in a large play area -- sizes of dogs range from 5 lbs to 180 lbs* Ability to motivate employees and manage their daily tasks *Effectively communicate with customers about their dog's behavior and resolve any incidents *Maintain the online billing system and remind customers how to use it and keep their credit cards updated *Strong communication with the business's owner on an ongoing basis *Keep supplies in stock and order deliveries from the most economical sources *Track employee hours for payroll and work with employees for any special scheduling requests. *Reliable transportation* Must be punctual and show up to work ready to do your job!* Ability to work a variable schedule* Ability to work well in a team environment* Ability to follow directions and procedures Preferred Qualifications:* Previous doggy daycare managerial experience* Knowledge of basic positive reinforcement training principles* Excellent interpersonal skills, and customer service experience Please send in a resume and cover letter.
