EVANSTON, IL — The high school seniors of 2021 have had an experience like no other in a century — a year upended by a pandemic and by lockdowns that kept them from enjoying many of the activities that previous seniors have taken for granted. Patch hopes to help make it up to those seniors by giving them a special sendoff. We asked parents and other family members to pay tribute to this year's grads using a special submission form so we can publish those tributes one by one. Evanston Township High School student Hayes Banks will graduate this year. Plans after graduation: University of Illinois, majoring in Kinesiology Accomplishments: Army brat who has been moved around the world. He has seen his dad off to war and thankfully, welcomed him back home. Mom battled cancer during his entire time at ETHS. Honor Roll and distinguished graduate. Special message: Hayes, we are so proud of you and all you have accomplished this far in life. You are a kind and gentle man who we know, will do great things in your lifetime.
