ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police have handled four disturbances involving battery. Here is information from the reports:
A domestic disturbance happened about 9 a.m. Thursday in the 300 block of Yorkfield Avenue. A woman said she took cash from a man's room and that he became physical with her. The man said he did not become physical with the woman. Because of conflicting statements, no arrests were made. Officers responded to a domestic disturbance about 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of West Grand Avenue. The suspect sped away when officers arrived. He was later found after he crashed his car in Addison. Elmhurst police obtained an arrest charging domestic battery, driving with a revoked license, and fleeing from officers. A disturbance took place about 7:30 a.m. Thursday in the 700 block of North York Street. A man told police that another man slapped him and pushed him to the ground during an argument. The other man said the first man attempted to slap him and missed. The second man said he took the other one to the ground to prevent another attack. Neither man wished to press charges. Antoneisha M. Johnson, 18, of Chicago, was arrested about 1 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of East Butterfield Road on domestic battery (two counts), criminal damage to property and criminal trespass to a residence. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail. A man told police that Johnson struck him. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
