Litter Patrol Workers – Crew Members and Crew Leader Oregon Department of Transportation Delivery and Operations Division – District 8 Central Point $14.75 - $15.20 Hourly ODOT is following the direction of the Governor's Office to help slow and prevent the spread of COVID-19. Visit our  for more information. The role:   The Youth Litter Patrol (YLP) Program was founded in 1977 help clean up state highway rights of way. This is a great opportunity to work outdoors with a team and have a role in maintaining state highways and helping the environment as well as learn about career opportunities at ODOT. We are seeking 4 litter patrol workers and 1 crew leader in Central Point. Litter crews primarily pick up litter along state highways although other tasks may be assigned. Applications are welcomed from anyone 16 years of age or older (for crew member positions) and 18 years of age or older (for the crew leader position). Litter patrol workers are temporary employees and are not eligible for vacation, personal or holiday leave. Crews may work full-time or part-time and hours may vary. These positions will work during the summer (total hours not to exceed 1,040). You will work in all types of weather and around traffic. If applying to be a crew leader, you must be at least 18 years old when you start working, have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. You must have a basic knowledge of spoken and written English. You must be able to lift and carry filled garbage bags. You must be willing to work in all types of weather and in a safe manner along state highways. You must pass a criminal background check.
