Description
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Coordinate the delivery of orders and ensure the necessary paperwork is prepared and completed; keep NSQM freezers stocked and in clean, working condition; and ensure the meat processing facility is complaint with all U.S.D.A. regulations with regard to cleanliness and sanitation.
AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Perform daily sanitation requirements for entire meat processing facility;
- Coordinate with management to assure timely packaging of meat;
- Maintain inventory of all packaging supplies to include, but not limited to, labels, boxes, tape, shrink wrap, etc.;
- Responsible for the daily upkeep and overall cleanliness of the warehouse area;
- Work with North Star Quality Meats to ensure timely and accurate shipping of product to stores; and
- Other duties as assigned by Meat Category Manager.
JOB EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Able to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and colleagues;
- Good oral and written communication skills;
- Good math skills and ability to perform operations using American currency and measurement units;
- Carry out detailed written or oral instructions and deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations;
- Must be able to lift and move up to 105lbs;
- Must possess current/valid driver license and ability to operate a forklift and an electric pallet jack; and
- Comfortable working indoors in a warehouse environment and freezers in 10 degrees below 0 temperature.
