Goodwill is seeking Drivers This position will support Goodwill Industries of San Antonio by driving bobtail trucks to pick-up materials at Attended Donation Station sites, Drop Boxes, donors’ homes and businesses. Transport materials and merchandise to Goodwill retail stores; load and unload trucks. Support the organization in its mission to help change lives through the power of work. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Drive assigned truck to specified destination, such as place of business, residence or attended donation station, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety. Inspect assigned truck by following established vehicle maintenance procedures, using a vehicle maintenance checklist to check equipment and supplies. Load material onto vehicle; secure material to prevent shifting or damage in transit. Provide customer/donor service by preparing donor receipt for items picked-up at place of residence or business in a friendly and courteous manner. Maintain telephone or radio contact with transportation personnel to receive delivery or pick-up instructions. Load, unload, and move materials and donated goods including furniture using hand truck or forklift, onto or from pallets, racks, or shelves to maintain workflow of production cycle and to distribute donated goods. Operate forklift, controlling movement of lifting apparatus, to transfer materials to/from designated area. Handle, load and transport salvage material. Monitor and address performance issues on a timely basis. Comply with Texas Department of Public Safety and other applicable commercial driving requirements. Maintain required license. Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality. Comply with all company departmental policies, procedures, safety and fuel guidelines. Provide excellent customer service by greeting, assisting, and responding to questions and/or concerns in a positive, professional, and friendly manner. REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Class C driver’s license. 1 year of experience driving a vehicle with a standard transmission. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position. For positions that require driving, must maintain a valid driver’s license
