Job Description Summary: As a Laborer you will provide landscape maintenance, landscape irrigation or landscape construction support to a variety of industrial, commercial, and/or public properties. Landscape maintenance, landscape irrigation or landscape construction support includes the safe operation of commercial grade landscaping equipment and upkeep of plant material and other landscaping elements. Essential Function: · Performs a variety of tasks involving manual labor in landscape, irrigation or construction projects. · Performs manual and machinery work in preparing surfaces for paving (Landscape Construction). · Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards. · Performs materials handling and storage. · Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials. · Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. · Cut turf using various sized power mowers, trimming and edging using a gas-powered edger/trimmer, and operating a gas-powered blower. · Properly and safely prune shrubs and low trees as needed to improve the shape or growth habit or to remove damaged branches. · Lay sod, plant, mow, trim, dig, rake, prune, mulch, sprinkler installation, and load and unload materials. · Plant and maintain flower beds. · Properly and safely operate the edger and line trimmer along sidewalks, flower beds, trees, buildings, fences and other objects. · Pick up trash and blow leaves and other organic debris on to the turf before mowing. Mulch the leaves and organic matter when mowing. · Perform weeding by hand or using a garden hoe or hula hoe. · Maintain a polite, friendly, responsive demeanor with customers · Brings problems to the attention of the foreman, safety director or HR manager. · Must uphold company policies, procedures and company core values at all times · Other duties as assigned.
