Skylar is sweetly beautiful, with soft brown eyes that shine with hope and possibilities. She is enjoying meeting all her new friends at the shelter, both people and dogs, and she is fitting in well with everyone. She came in with Buxton, they are each a bit hesitant but are thriving with their new routine and consistency of care, so important at this age for them, not even a year old yet. An adoption counselor will be in contact with you following the submission of your application. If approved, they will arrange a meet and greet at one of our monthly trips to Chesapeake or at our shelter. Visits to the shelter are by appointment only, as we are a volunteer-run rescue organization. All PAWS dogs are spayed/neutered, and current on the vaccinations appropriate for their age. Those who are confirmed over 4 months old or older will have their rabies vaccinations. Age permitting, dogs/puppies are tested for heartworm. All are treated with flea/tick prevention and given internal parasite preventative on a regular basis. All are microchipped (for their safety and the adopter's peace of mind) as part of the adoption fee.
