The Southwestern Michigan Iris Society will host an Iris Show. Entries by the public are very welcome (9-10AM). Any iris that is in bloom may be entered, but the Show is scheduled for the peak of the Tall Bearded iris season. A $20 gift certificate will be given to a member of the public who enters the best stalk of iris. There also will be a drawing for some newer iris, $100 value, open to the public attendees. These are not your grandmother’s iris. But if you have one, please bring in a stalk! The Iris Show is presented as an educational exhibit for the public. Different kinds of late blooming iris will be displayed. The late blooming Japanese Iris will be featured. Louisiana, Spuria, and Pseudata iris are also late blooming iris that might be displayed. Don’t know what they are? This is your chance to learn and see these iris that bloom almost a month after the Tall Bearded Iris. Entries are open to the public.
