Description About The Company At ELECTRIC RIDES, we are on a mission to provide an awesome summer after the disaster that was 2020. We may not have a trillion dollars and Super Bowl Half-time Show advertising strategy but we’ll be damned if we’re not going to do the best we can with what we’ve got. We also hate traffic but we like getting around. We are bringing in a fleet of rental e-bikes and need a technician to help with assembly, maintenance, repair & inspection. As the success of rentals grows so will the fleet of bikes and the need for more work. This position is currently up for consideration as a contract role / part-time requirement. We’re looking for a savvy, self-starting person with bicycle maintenance/repair experience and knowledge of the pace of working life during a Cape Cod summer. Position Summary As a Technician you have the opportunity to work on our fleet of rental e-bikes prior to / upon return of the rental period. The position calls for a high level of attention to detail and consistency. Working individually and extended standing, and some heavy lifting of 50 lbs or more may be expected. Maintaining a positive, helpful attitude is imperative in this position. Flexibility and a willingness to help in any way possible are needed in our small, dynamic team environment. Reports to: GM Requirements • Strong knowledge of bike frames, wheels, and components. • Previous professional bike mechanic experience required. • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail. • A positive and professional attitude and a consistent work ethic, must be self-motivated and work well alone as well as on a team in a shop and office atmosphere. • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment. Primary Responsibilities • Unpack, assemble, wash and inspect bicycles and components. • Complete standardized tasks within a bicycle processing line including truing wheels, tire installation, derailleur tuning/adjustment, and brake adjustment. • Advanced technical skills of component replacement, brake bleeds, bearing installation, suspension overhauls, truing wheels, tubeless tire installation, dérailleur tuning/adjustment, and final quality control check. • Demonstrating proficiency with our computer systems and software. • Daily maintenance and upkeep of standardized workstations. Salary Range For this role, the hourly rate starts at $17.00-$24.00 an hour based on experience. We’re seriously considering this as a contracted position / part time role where you make your own hours based on the requirements.
