Starts Wednesday, May 26th (Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for 6 weeks)
Participants will learn basic and intermediate fabrication techniques such as piercing, forming, soldering, and surface finishing. There will be demonstrations on stone setting techniques for rings & pendants, texturizing and mark making. Discussions will include applying the principles of design in jewelry making and how to improve craftsmanship skills and tool use. This class is open to beginners & intermediate metalsmiths and includes skill building exercises and opportunities to work on a variety of techniques and individual projects.
Non-members: $195 for 6 weeks. Members: $156. Workshop fee does not include materials. Wire and cabochons available to purchase at first class.
Open to adults only. Please contact us directly if you are interested in metalsmithing options for teens.

About the instructor: Rick Stark comes to metalsmithing after a wide variety of experiences in woodworking, blacksmithing and metalsmithing at Haystack Mountain School of Craft, Artascope, the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship and the Wooden Boat School. He is thrilled to be part of the supportive & creative Artascope community and is committed to education and peer-to-peer learning.
