Serviceberry Fest ATL, a celebration of all things Serviceberry! Robby Astrove, Community Farmers Market, and Real Connections are proud to invite you to the First Annual Serviceberry Festival in Atlanta! Join us on Thursday, June 3rd, 2021 at 5 pm for an experience of all things serviceberry. Sample serviceberry food, treats + libations, listen to a live DJ, and visit our serviceberry tree sale. The festive atmosphere will be complemented by the East Atlanta Farmer's Market just steps away, so don't forget your shopping baskets. Sunday, June 6 in partnership with Community Bucket, Serviceberry Fest ATL gives back with a service project. 9-12:30PM at Arabia mountain: yoga, serviceberry teas, lunch, and trailwork. *In service to our local community, proceeds from ticket sales will support a public serviceberry orchard in a local park, school, or public space with the intention that berries will be free and available to the public. The orchard will be planted during the fall of 2021. (15-gallon serviceberry tree + planting service) The star ingredient: The Serviceberry Tree (Amelanchier spp.) is native to North America with a small blueberry-like fruit that is harvested in early June, making this festival the perfect time to enjoy this incredible superfood. This delicious berry is favored by humans and birds, supports local wildlife, and is packed with nutrients and vitamins. Come experience the wonders of this locally grown berry yourself! Festival Serviceberry Service Project(20 spots total): "Seva" means service in Sanskrit and the First Annual Serviceberry Festival is all about service. Service to ourselves, our community, and the planet. Join us on Sunday, June 6th, 2021 from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm. $15 donation Seva Service at Arabia Mountain: 20 available spots for this volunteer service project day in partnership with Community Bucket, an Atlanta-based 501(c)3 nonprofit. It includes two serviceberry teas provided by Just Add Honey Tea Company, guided yoga lead by Jess Pfeffer, a boxed lunch provided by Buena Gente Cuban Bakery + trail work at Arabia Mountain lead by Ranger Robby. *covid precautions are in place: this is a masked event, hand washing stations provided, + physical distancing highly suggested _____________________________________________________________________________________ The mission of Community Farmers Markets is to develop a local food infrastructure for long term sustainability and meaningful community impact. Their purpose is to preserve, root, and grow a diverse local food culture by maintaining an authentic space for all people to share community, fair food, and healthy lifestyles while providing a sustainable living for producers who steward the earth. Community Bucket is built around a mission of Service Made Social - cultivating meaningful connections through shared acts of local volunteering. Since 2012, they have been making service fun, easy and impactful for anyone who wants to serve the local community. Your contribution will help advance their work all over Atlanta, which to date has created nearly $500K in value to nonprofit partners.
