Moms, gather your family and retreat beneath the trees for a few hours of re-energizing and centering self-care activities. Black Girls With Green Thumbs calls mothers from across the Philadelphia area to reflect on their resilience and commit to nurturing their spirit by connecting with the ultimate feminine energy: Mother Nature. On Juneteenth we invite you and your children to immerse yourself in nature and: claim your right to rest be free to let go break the routine of daily lifenurture curiosityTogether with other women and their children, mothers will enjoy a beautiful day of restoration and exploration in the woodlands of Philadelphia. During this complimentary wellness retreat, families will engage in activities together and apart like, trap yoga for mom, a nature hike for children, and painting for all! Black Girls With Green Thumbs gathered some of our favorite Black women wellness practitioners and creatives: Taqiyya Muhammad, Y&A Artistry -- Sip & Stroke (painting with fresh, cold-pressed juice) Samantha Suragh, Sami the Yogi -- Mindfulness MeditationEbony B., YogaAnd -- Yoga and Trap and over lunch we will hear from Sincerely Syreeta, Host of Save Space on WURD Radio (96.1fm/900am)! The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education is even providing a special nature hike/foraging activity for children and offering canoeing at the end of the day! They Didn’t Know We Were Seeds is open to mothers, children of all ages (best suited for School Age), expectant mothers, grandmothers, and other female guardians or caretakers. Lunch will be generously provided by Flat Belly Veg and continental breakfast will be available upon arrival. Please bring reusable water bottles. Although we will be outdoors, care will be taken to ensure the safety of everyone. Please prepare to social distance where space allows and have a mask on hand when space does not.
