Car Theft, Burglar Suspect Arrested After Chase Through Temecula

TEMECULA, CA — A person was taken into custody Saturday morning after a dramatic pursuit carried through multiple cities in Riverside County in a stolen vehicle, officials from the Riverside County Sherriff told Patch. Deputies were investigating a report of a residential burglary in Perris Saturday at 7:04 a.m. where a vehicle was also reported stolen from the home officials said. After locating the stolen car, the driver attempted to evade deputies, leading them on a chase through Perris, Murrieta and Temecula. The pursuit of the driver in a black Cadillac sedan culminated in the parking lot of a warehouse at the corner of Dendy Parkway and Diaz Road in Temecula, according to reports from the scene. A loudspeaker was used to advise employees of the surrounding businesses to remain indoors. The sheriff department's Special Enforcement Bureau responded to the area where the pursuit ended to assist in the arrest, officials said. The investigation is ongoing and no other information was immediately available. Officials confirmed there is no danger to the public.
