Southwest Portland Doggy Daycare and Boarding Facility is currently seeking a dog daycare and boarding attendants. The weekly hours will be part-time spanning 3-4 days a week depending on your preference, beginning immediately. The more flexible your schedule is, the better! Hours may be morning, daytime, or evening and may include weekend shifts. Some of the regular shifts we are currently needing to fill will be evening kennel attendant shifts. We are open 365 days a year so you also need to be available to work on some holidays. Experience working with dogs is not a must but is a definite plus. You will be expected to be able to supervise and handle large groups of dogs at play, which is a lot different than just owning a dog! Our canine clientele are often high-energy so applicants must be patient and absolutely love dogs. And our human clients want to trust that their pets are in good hands so strong customer service skills are a big plus! Duties include but are not limited to: Overseeing large groups of dogs at play, cleaning up dog messes (not for the squeamish!), bathing and brushing dogs, feeding and administering medications to boarding dogs, cleaning kennels each day, checking dogs in for daycare and sending them home at the end of the day, talking to customers about their pets, and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning! Petting and playing with dogs is the fun part of the job but please be aware that cleaning is also a major part of every day, both at night when the entire facility gets cleaned and during the day when there is down time.
