Description
1 Year Old foster dog ready to go to forever home. My friend couldn’t keep her beautiful Husky (mix?) because of a move. I started fostering this wonderful 1 year old (DOB: March 2020) and had her spayed in March.
I have her trained to sit, she walks well on a leash now. She no longer jumps on people and is an excellent running buddy, especially for canicross.
Her original name was “Missy” but I call her Gumbo “Roux”.
She is spayed and up to date on vet visits, HW test, vaccines and flea treatment.
Roux will chase cats and small animals but with strong verbal correction she stops. If you have reptiles in the house, gradually introduce her to them because she may attempt to play with them. If your lizards are small, she will eat them (but most people don’t have loose pet lizards in their house).
Roux is still puppy-ish in behavior but you cannot find a more attentive dog once she bonds with you. Very friendly with other dogs but plays rough. Wonderful with children.
I will provide her leash/harness, some food, dog bowls and toys.
She is crate trained now.
I was told she loves rawhide but we have given her alternatives and cattle bones.
I recommend any prospective adopter purchase a large crate (if desired), chew treats, a dog bed and a sturdy ball.
There is a small rehoming fee non-negotiable of $50.
Call or text.
Roux is a great dog and ready for a new home. Our family is ready for our next foster so we can help more homeless animals in San Antonio.
