New Student Orientation|Parents will have the opportunity to learn about a wonderful journey that is education at IDEA Public Schools. New IDEA Families,We are so excited to welcome you to our Team and Family! It is time for our annual Welcome to IDEA Orientation event. This event is mandatory for all new to IDEA families. At this event, you will be able to: 1. Register your child/ confirm your child's registration completion 2. Meet school leaders and teachers 3. Learn more about the school's academics and extracurricular activities 4. Meet other New-to-IDEA families 5. Tour the school 6. Purchase uniforms 7. Kinder - 5th grade students may complete their mandatory placement testing. 8. Get information about transportation, our child nutrition program, student special services and more! Event Details The main event will be held on Saturday, May 22nd. Join us for one of two orientation sessions: Session 1: 9:00 am – 11:30 am Session 2: 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm The event will be held in the IDEA Innovation school building. The school’s address is 7800 Innovation Park Dr. | Baton Rouge, La 70807. If you are unable to attend one of the two sessions on May 22nd, you are invited to attend one of our smaller make-up events held on the following dates at the following times: - Wednesday, June 2nd | 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm - Wednesday, June 9th | 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm - Wednesday, June 16th | 2:00 pm -4:00 pm Limited seats are available for each session. Please RSVP here on Eventbrite for one of the sessions above before May 15th. Registration We highly recommend completing registration prior to attending this event. All families who do so will be able to receive a Fast Pass and skip the long line for registration. Due to COVID Safety protocols and capacity restrictions, there is a two person per family limit for this event. This two-person count includes the student who will be enrolling in the fall. If you would like both parents to attend, the student will not be able to attend. Please note that childcare will not be provided at any of these events. 2. All attendees must wear a mask to gain entry to the event. 3. Upon arrival, all attendees will be screened. Individuals will not be granted access if they do not pass health screening as well as those who are attending with the individual. We ask that you screen yourself before coming to the event. Ask yourself and others attending with you the following questions: • Is your temperature ≥ 100.4°F? • Do you have any of these symptoms? Cough, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. • Are you or anyone in your household awaiting COVID-19 test results? • Have you or anyone in your household received a confirmed positive COVID-19 test result? • Have you been in close contact with anyone with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last two weeks?If you answer “YES” to any of these questions, please do not attempt to attend this event.
