Texas Diabetes Research Breakfast | Keynote Speaker - Dr. Sean Michael Hartig
This year, we will hold the first Texas Diabetes Research Breakfast in Houston. Join us to learn more about and engage with Dr. Sean Michael Hartig, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine-Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism, Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Baylor College of Medicine. The Hartig laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine studies how diverse cells within adipose tissues determine insulin sensitivity and whole-body energy balance. This area is critically important for understanding the basis of many obesity-induced complications including insulin resistance, fatty liver disease, and type 2 diabetes. Our work provides insights into immune regulation of obesity outcomes. Dr. Hartig serves as PI or Co-Investigator on several funded grants that lay the foundation for ongoing research and collaborations in metabolism, physiology, and immunology.
