This Joshua Tree Astro Workshop will be focused towards teaching you how to capture amazing astro pictures in the least amount of time! Welcome friends to the Joshua Tree Astrophotography Workshop. This specific workshop will be focused towards teaching you how to understand your camera settings to produce the best Astrophotography images while also understanding how to achieve the best compositions. Our local knowledge as well as photography experience has been accumulated over 10+ years. It is our mission to help share this knowledge with you in the least ammount of time possible. Come spend some time under the stars with us and see for yourself how beautiful our solar system really is without any light pollution inside Joshua Tree National Park! ABOUT THIS EVENT: This event will be held inside Joshua Tree National Park during the new moon cycle. In astronomy, the new moon is the first lunar phase, when the Moon and Sun have the same ecliptic longitude. At this phase, the lunar disk is not visible to the unaided eye, making it one of the best times to do Astrophotography. There will be 2 experienced instructors to help. WHAT WE WILL BE TEACHING YOU:Everything necessary to capure quality Milky Way images including the necessary settings for long exposure.Creative compositions with the Milky Way and sourronding landscape. Using third-party lighting to enhance your image highlights, shadows, or simply to make them look even cooler. THINGS TO BRING AND KNOW:Please be equipped with good hiking shoes. We will be hiking and climbing around rocks that could be a bit slippery. Have a decent amount of layers for clothing including a jacket. The desert may get hot in the daytime, but can also have a significant temperture drop at night, or early morning. You can check the local weather 3-5 days in advance with your phone to ensure you are packing accordingly. CAMERA GEAR AND MISC ESSENTIALS:Camera -Bring your own camera, unless you sign up for the "NO EQUIPMENT NECESSARY" class.Lens - Bring the fastest and widest angle lens you have. Somewhere between 12-35 mm wide angle lens with an Apeture between f/2.8 - f/1.4. Sturdy TripodHeadlamp and an extra flashlight if possible. - Make sure you have fresh batteries.Shutter release cable for long exposure photography. - Unless your camera already has a built-in intervalometer. Memory Cards. - 64GB minimum, but preferably 128 GB. Extra camera batteriesJoshua Tree National Park entrance fee is not included in the price of the workshop. Please purchase that in advance, or once you enter the park. This class will be in accordance with state and local public health organizations, TBB Photos is following all COVID-19 related protocols. All participants will be asked to maintain social distancing protocols of 6 feet from anyone not in their household. Face coverings are mandatory for all. The class size has been limited to further minimize the risks associated with COVID-19. Please do not attend this class if you are experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19 including a fever of 100.4 or higher, cough, shortness of breath, loss of sense of taste/smell, fatigue, diarrhea, muscle aches and headaches.
