Need helper for flower and vegetable gardens. (No lawn care required.) Tasks will include: watering planters and beds, helping lay soaker hoses, fertilizing, weeding, planting, digging, mulching, deadheading, trimming, harvesting, staking and trellising, helping make compost, moving bags of dirt, etc.
Past garden experience helpful, but can also train. Positive and helpful attitude and a willingness to learn far more important than experience. About 10 hours per week (3x a week about 3 or 3.5 hrs per time). Great summer job for student (or someone who wants to learn more about gardening). Side benefit -- free fresh organic produce from veggie garden when available.
Preferred hours 7:30 - 10:30 a.m. (somewhat negotiable). Preferred days M, W, F. Days may vary from week to week depending on weather (heat, rain, etc.). Must be reliable and have own transportation to and from work. May need to run an occasional errand to Home Depot or garden nursery. Will pay mileage.
Job starts ASAP and will go until end of August (possibly mid-September if you are still available). Pay raise and/or bonus for quick learners and being reliable.
