The Berkeley Tennis Club is a 115-year old private tennis club located at the foot of the Claremont Hotel & Spa on Tunnel Road, Berkeley. We are seeking a full-time Head of Maintenance to lead our team of three maintenance staff to keep our clubhouse, grounds, and pool facilities in impeccable condition for our members. Must be available to work afternoon/evenings and weekends. Business hours are 6:30a.m. to 9p.m. daily. Job Description: • Applicant must have an eye for detail – someone who takes great pride in their work and can provide exemplary customer service to our members. • Respond in an appropriate and timely manner to maintenance requests. • Create a daily/weekly schedule of routine maintenance and janitorial tasks. • Direct and organize all activities around building, grounds, and pool upkeep. • Ensure facilities and equipment is maintained to local/state ordinance standards. • Order and maintain inventory of janitorial supplies. • Identify and complete repairs, calling in subcontractors where necessary. • Participate in coordination of long-term projects and improvements. • Participate in an on-call emergency rotation. • Basic computer skills (email and internet). • Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned. Experience/Requirements: • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within facilities maintenance though construction experience will also be considered. • Must pass a criminal background check. • Must have the ability to lead a team and work with others in a positive and cooperative manner. • Must be able to be on-call and respond quickly to after hours and weekend emergencies. • Must be able to lift 50 pounds from a standing position.
