Press release from the El Paso Community College: May 23, 2021 El Paso Community College (EPCC) held a virtual commencement ceremony to celebrate the Spring Class of 2021. The event for the 2,232 graduates was broadcast on EPCC-TV and YouTube. The commencement is now streamed on the EPCC YouTube channel. Graduating students may download their individual graduation slide here. Graduation is an incredibly important milestone and graduating during a global pandemic is no small feat. The virtual ceremony was focused on the strength and resiliency of EPCC students and how these unprecedented circumstances have prepared them well for future success. "We are very proud of your efforts and determination. Graduation is not an ending, it is a beginning," Dr. William Serrata, EPCC President, said. "As graduates, you will soon embark on the next stage of life's journey with a degree in hand and the skills you need to reach your goals." Dr. Serrata hosted the virtual ceremony and the commencement speaker was Dr. Roberto Coronado, Senior Vice President and Senior Economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. EPCC has more than 50 years of transforming higher education in our region. The college is nationally recognized for student achievement, including awarding the most associate degrees to Hispanic students in the nation for 16 years. EPCC serves more than 28,500 students and offers 145 degree and certificate programs. Throughout its 50-year history, the college has remained focused on engaging students, growing community partnerships and fostering excellence. By creating a college-going culture and implementing innovative student success initiatives, EPCC is transforming the pathway to higher education and developing a better-prepared workforce for our region.
