Please apply online through our website: https://astx.com/our-people-and-culture/career-opportunities/ The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for processing semi-monthly payroll and employee expense reports, managing contracts and purchase orders, and related accounting activities. Assists with duties related to the month-end close, general ledger, and other operational accounting functions as well as assist with Human Resources compliance and reporting functions. This role reports to the Vice President, Finance. Responsibilities: Process semi-monthly payroll and manual checksPrepare journal entries of all payroll activitiesPrepare monthly reconciliations of payroll and benefit accrual accountsPrepare and audit payroll related reports including 401(k) withholdings and matching contributions, flexible spending account activity, nonqualified deferred compensation plan activity, and bonus accrualsMonitor and manage benefit hour accruals including vacation, floating holidays, and personal timeCoordinate and manage payroll and accounting system upgrades or conversionsMeet government reporting requirements for various federal and state payroll taxesReview and process expense reports. Monitor and record applicable taxable fringe benefitsDevelop and maintain communication systems regarding payrollRespond to employee questions and resolve problemsWork with Human Resources to develop and/or modify related policies and assist with other federal and state statutory compliance and reportingReview and process contracts and agreements from the Legal department and generate purchase ordersAssist Accounting department with other projects including monthly close and other accounts payable duties as directedAssist with systems implementations and developing company policies and proceduresQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business, or equivalent experienceMinimum 5 years’ accounting and compliance experienceAdvanced knowledge of accounting and compliance issues related to payroll and benefitsProficiency using ADP Workforce Now, ADP report writer, and Workday systemsExperience using Microsoft Office Systems and Microsoft Dynamics GP softwareExceptional customer service, time management, and organization skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsDiscretion and ability to maintain confidentiality is essential
