BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Dad's gonna flip: the classic cars are coming back. This Father's Day, an amended version of the Rodeo Drive Concours d'Elegance is returning to Beverly Hills. On June 20, 50 of the world's rarest cars will once again roll down Beverly Hills streets, re-establishing a beloved 25-year tradition curtailed by Covid. Starting Father's Day at 11 a.m., a unique assortment of European classics, American muscle cars, pre-war cars, racecars, and the latest from Ferrari, McLaren, Rolls Royce, and more will drive around the city. Spectators will also be treated to a view of a Beverly Hills 1928 Ahrens Fox fire engine. The public is invited to view the tour at any point along its route, which will travel westbound from Burton Way between San Vicente Boulevard and Rexford Drive, then southbound on Beverly Drive between Lomitas Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard, then along Canon Drive between Santa Monica Boulevard and Dayton Way. A full map of the route, which will include Rodeo Drive, will be published soon with further details. The cars won't be the only attractions - surprise celebrity drivers will also be behind the wheels of some of the cars. Beverly Hills Mayor Robert Wunderlich, who will drive one of the cars, said that he is excited to bring back the city's beloved tradition. "It's been a long year since we could celebrate events in Beverly Hills," Wunderlich said. "On this Father's Day, we join 50 wonderful classic cars on the road back towards normalcy, while raising funds for our first responders - such a great first step." Funds from the tour will benefit the Beverly Hills Police Officers Association and Beverly Hills Firefighters Association, charities that provide assistance to first responders injured in the line of duty, and maintain scholarship funds for their children, in addition to other types of support.
