Must send resume or description of previous and current work history with three references. $20/hr starting pay non-negotiable City Compost provides services for the community that enable discarded food and other fertilizer materials that would otherwise be thrown away to return back to the soil so that more food can grow. Food for Our Food is our Motto. Our services reduce material going to landfills and incinerators to better the environment while also creating more fresh food for the community. Looking for 8-10 people to help in teams of two with a compost site clean up. Start day is May 31st and will continue daily until complete. No work on Sunday. Requirements - Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. - Must be on site and ready to work at start time. - Must complete full shift committed (1, 2, or 3). - First three days, two shifts maximum. - Must bring/arrange own water and food. (On site water refills.) - Must bring ID. Work Details Existing compost bins will be dug out with shovels and pitchforks to aerate the compost and make more space. Barrels will be emptied into 20 gallon totes by pitchfork. Two people will carry one tote typically weighing 80-150 lbs. Totes are emptied into compost bins and leafs, woodchips, and/or sawdust are mixed in to enable a proper compost process. Totes able to be lifted, carried, and emptied by one person are expected to be. Some general site clean up and reorganizing will occur as well at times. This is a one time job, however there is the possibility of other work after the job is completed. Attire : Expect to Get Dirty - Secure Footwear Required (no sandals) - Waterproof Boots Recommended - Long Pants and Belt Required - Long Sleeve Shirt Recommended - Work Gloves and Mask (worn at option, must have) (some mud and puddles exist on site) Rules - No Phone Use When Not on Break - No Smoking When Not on Break - No Trash to be Left on Site Day is Scheduled as Follows: 1st Shift : 7:00 - 10:30 - - 1.75 Hours On - - 15 Minute Paid Break - - 1.5 Hours On 45 Minute - Unpaid Break Required 2nd Shift - 11:15 - 2:45 - - 1.75 Hours On - - 15 Minute Paid Break - - 1.5 Hours On 45 Minute - Unpaid Break Required 3rd Shift - 3:30 - 7:00 - - 1.75 Hours On - - 15 Minute Paid Break - - 1.5 Hours On
