Your name is Nolan. You drive a tan Ford focus (or at least you did while you worked here, maybe you've upgraded since then). You used to work in the produce department at the same store I work at, but you left for college at the end of 2020. We'd been in contact for a bit, starting in June of 2020. I actually gave you a card with $20 inside, as congratulations on graduating...
But you stopped texting, and I don't seem to have your number anymore.
I would like to get back in touch, but I feel like maybe the only reason you humored me was that you felt sorry for me... I guess I came off desperate. That wasn't the intent, but looking back I'm almost certain that's how you took it. I feel like I must have spooked you, this female coworker, a good bit older than you, who hadn't talked to you much (you are a quiet person though, actually one of the things that I found attractive initially..) and then all of a sudden felt the need to start talking to you... Well, I definitely should have broken the ice sooner. When I heard you were leaving for college, I guess I just went with my gut feeling, but it was all too much for you to process all at once...
I'm sad that things got weird between us, and I wish there was a way I could fix it. But your number is gone from my phone, as are the text message threads. Maybe you'll happen upon this ad though, and answer it.
